Week 20

Today, I am now halfway in my pregnancy! 20 more weeks left to go! Wow, already?! If you're wondering...right now, I am feeling pretty good. I'm just hungry a lot. Maybe you've noticed too?? That's right, I've been told I'm showing more. No, really?!? Well, it's hard for me to see that unless I take pictures or something. Sandy Oldenkamp has mentioned that I should try using a measuring tape around my abdomen to help me see how much I've changed. How could I forget such simple task?! I guess I'll do that some other times.

During week 19, I was feeling a little pain here and there in my lower abdomen. In researching, it is said to be that the ligaments that support my uterus are stretching to accommodate its increasing weight. Isn't that so? I didn't know. But I did noticed that whenever my abdomen area itches, it's actually stretching! Right?? That's just my guess.

I still can't feel any hard movements yet. The doctor who did my sonogram told me that it won't be for a couple of weeks since I am carrying low. It has something to do with my placenta that acts like a cushion which is making it hard for me to feel her. However, there are times when I can barely feel her move (real lightly) but it is still not strong enough for Matt to feel her.

I have been sleeping sideways for the past few weeks. I admit, I already miss sleeping on my back and stomach! I put pillows on both sides so that I don't lay flat on my back. It's funny how Matt thinks I'm building a wall against him. Ha! I've never thought about that.

Week 18: IT'S A GIRL!

To make a long story short, another prayer has been answered! Don't take this the wrong way because I do want a boy too but I prayed for a girl first. Whenever I'd hope and prayed for something and God allowed it to happen, oh let me tell you...there's joy to it! I am so excited! I always give Him thanks! It's indeed wonderful news and for knowing my baby girl is doing fine (inside me, that is).

I admit, these sonogram pictures look a bit weird! Sort of like an alien or something. Heh. How strange is it when I thought she was missing her bottom legs?? But then I realized I've got a picture of her feet. Because at first I didn't understand and was getting worried, Matt had to take the time explaining to me how sonogram works and that when the baby moves a certain way the sonogram won't be able to pick up the other side of the baby's body.

At 18 weeks and 3 days, I'm told she weight 9 ounces. As you can tell, she sure wasn't shy!

Week 17 = 4 months pregnant

A few days ago, it happened just once (by far) when I was startled by one particular baby's movement. It felt like one of my organs was about to pop out of my body or something (okay, I'm exaggerating there) but the best I can say is that it sort of felt like "a twitch" or a piece of my organ being turned upside-down or something. It sure felt weird. I was caught off-guard. Every now and then, I'm starting to feel light flutter movements here and there like when I am hungry or when I eat.

I am currently 4 months pregnant. Next week, I'll find out the sex of my baby. As always, I'll keep you posted in details here. My sonogram appointment is on May 13th at 8:30 in the morning. It's always nice having Matt with me since he wasn't able to go with me to all my check-ups because of work. Let's hope the baby doesn't "hide" itself... otherwises, I'll have to stick with neutral colors.

Week 16

My check-up went well, the baby's heart is beating normal. As always, I'm grateful.

I don't recall how many pounds I've gained but I think it is a good 2 or 3 pounds. I know there's a wonderful reason for it. Well, I am finally starting to show... just a little. Although, I've been told that others are noticing my baby bump. I believe I've felt my baby move but it is still hard to distinguish between the little "bump" and "bubble" sensation. I can't explain it but I did felt a tickle coming from inside my lower abdomen and pelvic area as I was sort of half way sitting and laying down (so far, it happened only once or twice). I know it won't be long until the move gets stronger. Right now, the baby's movements isn't noticeable unless I sit still and put my hands on my stomach...
