Week 12

This week, I'm 3 months pregnant.

Because everything went well today, I left a few minutes after I saw the baby on the sonogram. It's amazing to actually see little arms and legs! How neat to see the baby sort of "swimming" inside me. Ain't that something? Before seeing the doctor, the nurse asked me if I felt the baby move yet, I said... no but instead I told her I felt gas. Ha!

Anyway, my blood pressure and blood tests came out good. Praise the Lord! I don't have Urinary Tract Infection as I thought. I just had a small infection that's common during pregnancy. My so-called rash/hive was just a skin reaction to pregnancy. Maybe because my stomach is stretching? Perhaps so.

Well, the doctor did ask me if I have any questions for her...I just can't believe I forgot to write my questions down. Next time, I'll be ready. My next appointment is April 28th and then I find out the sex of my baby on May 13th. I'm told it'll go by fast. Right now, it doesn't seems like it. Oh, and I've gained 2 pounds more! Let's see, that's a total of 7 pounds so far. Wow! I'm feeling BIG already! Let me explain, my legs feel like jello. Yikes! Whenever I walk, they jingle... I mean jiggle and wiggle. Ain't that repetitive? I'm like where did that come from?! Oh, right.. I have to remind myself, I'm pregnant.

Anyway, I didn't have much time to take more pictures of what I look like throughout my pregnancy so this will have to suffice until I take more...

Week 11

I'm starting to feel better than I did last week. After I posted Week 10, that queasy feeling actually made my stomach turned. So far, in other words, I've only vomited once. Whew! Next, I've experienced another so called pregnancy symptom: heartburn. Great. Yesterday, I've noticed my rash-hive started coming back but only on my stomach. There's that itchiness I'm feeling yet again. It's weird because today most of it started to disappear from my view. I'm going to find out once again to see whether it is partially PUPPP, stress, or just an allergic reaction.

Some are wondering if I am starting to show. Well...I'll be posting a picture of myself next week (during week 12) when I am exactly three months. I'll tell you now that I am not showing much yet but you be the judge of that... then again that'll change next week, right? Also, some of you have been praying for me. Thank you so much for your prayers! Please continue to pray for me throughout my pregnancy. My next appointment is on March 31st, I'll keep you posted.

Week 10

This week has been a scary and unpleasant experience for me somewhat. I thought I was going to miscarriage. I had this awful stomach pain. It hurts so bad that I was hot wearing my clothes. Well, I didn't know that constipation was an all too common first-trimester pregnancy symptom! How was I supposed to know that? Well, obviously the website warned me during Week 10 but I fell behind in my reading. I'm so thankful it wasn't something serious. I am now learning to take in a lot of fiber.

Now I am feeling nauseous. Yesterday after work, I ate some hamburger then a few minutes later I felt queasy. I thought to myself... okay maybe it's the food that's causing me to feel sick but then it happened again today after I had a donut and "pig-in-a-blanket" for breakfast (provided at work). I asked one of my employee if she had this symptom when she was pregnant. She said yes and that it was common and will continue to feel nauseous for a couple of more weeks. What?? For real? No, really?? Great. Oh and that including me being sensitive to smells too, so she says. Okay so I did noticed that Matt stink after he came back home from fishing and then there's my dog. *sighs* Wow, what "super nose" I have!

This morning, I woke up with a headache too. Can't believe that I've started having headache, nauseousness, and constipation all this week. Poor me! But the positive side is that my itchiness went away. Praise the Lord! I really thought I had Pruritic Urticarial Papules and Plaques of Pregnancy as known as PUPPP, it is an itchy rash-hive skin condition. I've itched and itched and itched but it finally went away. Hooray!

First Ob/Gyn visit

Finally!! I waited and waited just to view the baby in ultrasound. I am 8 weeks and my due date is October 11th. I even gained 5 pounds already. I admit I did not like taking all those tests! They are required though. However, I am just glad that's over with! Of course, the nurse asked me a lot of questions about my medical history. And then I took several tests...not pleasant ones but it must be done. The doctor said that everything looks good. For that, I am grateful.

Viewing my baby in ultrasound.
You can see the measurement at the bottom left.
I don't remember what this part was but that ring like circle is called a yoke sac which nourishes my developing baby and disappear as the baby grows.
The baby and the yoke sac.
Below looks a bit clearer. Can you spot the head? It is next to number 1.
The baby is measured about 1.90 cm. Amazing, right!?!

That ain't all. Before leaving, a different nurse gave me this bag and it was provided with several helpful information and samples for me to try! How cool is that??

By the way, my first visit today was a good one. I really like my doctor. She takes the time to explain things to me and listen to any questions I may have. I'm thankful everything went well.
