Dinner with the Moore family

taken on August 17, 2011

We were invited to have dinner with the Moore family. They have 3 children. All boys! Ben Moore, is the Youth Pastor of his church. Matt and I enjoyed getting to know them. I didn't see this coming until Matt puts on his UT shirt. Matt is always teasing Ben somehow. As you can tell, Matt is a fan of Texas Longhorn. When we arrived to the Moore's house, Ben saw Matt wore his UT shirt and decided to change his shirt to represent his OU team. Yes, you've guessed it. Ben is from Oklahoma. No wonder! Anyway, we had steak and potatoes! Yum yum! Matt was happy! Ben seasoned the steak really good! I throughly enjoyed it. Afterwards, Matt and Ben ended up playing a football game on Wii. Yep, it's Texas versus OU! Great. Matt was happy that he beated Ben by one point! It was his first football game played on Wii. Besides them, Melissa and I chatted as we watched. Oh and she was the first to give me an early baby boy gift! So sweet!! Thanks Ben and Melissa for inviting us over! We had a wonderful time.

I couldn't help but take a lot of pictures of Joanna and Melissa's baby boy (I forgot his name). I have never seen Joanna interacted with another baby playing with toys. It was fun to watch! Especially when they both take the balls away from each other. Ha!

Kansas City, Missouri

taken on August 11th, 2011

We decided to take a little tour downtown Kansas City, MO. It was on a cloudy day and after driving around we ended up checking out City Market because the parking lot was free. We decided to have lunch there since we were waiting for Aaron to get off work at 4pm. Our lunch was a bit expensive so we split a burrito. Oh, it sure tasted really good! If you like Chipotle, I'd definitely recommend this place! The flavors are different but really good! That's just me... but Matt loves it!

Afterwards, we met up with our brother Aaron. We played one game with him while Joanna crawled on the floor. After we had dinner with Aaron and his wife, we went back to St. Joesph.

It's a BOY!!

Wow, we have been waiting patiently to find out the sex of our baby. To our surprise, it is a BOY! Even though Matt wanted ALL girls, he is happy with a boy too! Although, I thought it was going to be another girl... I knew I couldn't depend on what I thought. I've guessed that way because of how I had all the same symptoms I did with my first pregnancy. I am happy with whatever God gives us! It will be a challange now that I have to make rooms for the color BLUE!! Well... you know what I mean.

We are in the process of looking at baby names for him. I can not believe how hard it is!

Now I will have one of each! A girl AND a boy!
Pink and blue. Bows and ties. Dolls and balls.
(the list goes on and on)
How crazy is that?!
Thank you Lord for a baby boy!

Showing off Joanna's two pearly white teeth

I've noticed that I have never captured and showed you
Joanna's teeth. So today, I decided to take pictures.
Here you'll see that she's done eating.
I'm just about to get ready to make her smile...

Ta-da!
Take a peek at Joanna's two bottom yet pearly white teeth.

I was tickling her to keep her smiling.

My baby girl is 10 months

Yep, she's 10 months now.
It's really hard to get her to smile.
Let's try again...
Come on baby girl...
Okay, this will do!

Week 17

Yesterday's check-up went as usual. Filled in papers and waited for the nurse. Did urine and blood tests. I really hate needles!! A good thing, Matt tried distracting me (he actually made me laugh) from thinking too much about getting my blood drawn with that sharp-yet-evil-pointy-pokey-thing. What?? At the moment, that's the best I can describe that needle. Ugh! Afterwards, my right arm (where I got my blood drawn) was sore all day. I carried Joanna's diaper bags and my purse over that same arm. No wonder? Oh and...we even got to hear the baby's heart beat. The nurse said the my baby's heartbeat is really good. She used a doppler thingy to help look for the heartbeat and the neat thing is that I remember to put my hand on the doppler to feel the vibration of the baby's heartbeat. I've never forgotten my first experience in doing so. Yes, I've gained about 8 pounds. I kind of feel a little bit bigger than I did the first time. My arms looks fat-Ter. Blech.

A good thing, we were able to schedule another appointment for the sonogram on August 15th. Hopefully, we'll be able to find the sex of the baby. I'm looking forward to finding out whether it's a boy or another girl. I wouldn't mind either.
