Standing in crib

Joanna just turned 9 months today. She was pretty fussy when I put her in the crib this morning. Although, last night she stood up on her own for the first time but I didn't get to take pictures of that until this morning. As you can tell, she wasn't happy.

Mommy, get me out of here!
Isn't it crazy how she has managed to pull herself up?

Oopies. She fell down. Look it...
she'll find a wake to peek through!
She banged her head when she fell back in the crib.
You can't see the redness in this photo. Poor baby.

Sunday afternoon nap

Ha! I thought it was cute when her hair just spiked up after she woke up from her afternoon nap. I was laughing when I took this picture (hence her smile.) I should have left it like that and tie a little string on top or something. I just didn't think of that sooner. It would have been funny to just let her go to church with that crazy hair. Hmm, perhaps next time? Hee hee

Joanna meets her Uncle Aaron

We were finally able to meet up with Aaron and his wife Kelsey. They live in Kansas City, Missouri. It's been over a year or so since we last saw Aaron. It was really nice to be able to meet up with them at Applebee's in St. Joesph, Missouri. They drove about an hour to meet us.
Aaron holding his niece for the first time while his wife looks on.

Joanna? Joanna? Look over here baby...
she was too busy studying Kelsey.
I think he was trying to get her to smile.

I don't know what was going on in this picture...
brotherly love, perhaps?
I know I know I am the shortest standing among them.

Burns, Kansas

I was told there are about 250 people living in this really small town (Esther grew up here)! We met up with Jeff and Esther before heading to St. Joesph, Missouri.

Esther said this little white house used to be her library.
For real?! Look how small that library used to be!
It is now empty.
This building used to be the school's cafeteria.
It is now a little cafe or restaurant...whatever you call it.

She was in such a good mood.

Teething

This past week was a little crazy. Joanna already had a fever of 101.5- 102 for two days plus her nose was running. Thankfully I was able to keep a close watch on that fever. It was no fun!

Doesn't it sounds like she's teething? Anyway, last night and this morning she has been fussy. For a week, I didn't felt anything on her gum until today! I felt a little sharp thingy (her tooth) but I can't see anything yet because she's making it hard for me to take a look. Anyway, I decided to put some baby orajel to help soothe her pain and gave her a teething toy (cold). It seemed to be working just a tad bit. She cries a lot. Poor baby! She looks miserable.

I know it won't be long til those pearly white teeth starts to show!!

At Heartland Baptist College in OK

We got up this morning to take pictures at the Heartland Baptist College in Oklahoma. We'd parked our trailer and stayed next to the college. Most students went home for the summer but I know there are very few still around. Hint: you'll noticed Joanna and Matt wearing their Texas Longhorn clothing.

Getting ready to take pictures...

Ahh.. finally.
Can't you see how much my baby has grown?!
I was just looking at how big she is in this photo.
Craziness, huh? She's 8 months now... almost a year old!

Our little Texas Longhorn cheerleader!
Hook'em! (We need to teach her the Longhorn sign.)

Caught off guard. Thanks Matt!
Just look at her...

Ha ha
We wanted a photo of just Joanna but it was hard to do!
Oh well... let's just take pictures.

Yep, daddy's training her already to be a Longhorn fan.
Hard to pay attention to Matt's shirt with that baby face!

As you can tell, I don't look pregnant yet, right? Well, that's funny cause I don't feel pregnant either. Oh and I'd miscalculated about how far I am. I thought I was about 5 or 6 weeks already. A good thing, I found a pregnancy calculator online to help me estimate how far along I am. It says that I am now 8 weeks and that my due date is on or around January 5th! BUT if this baby decides to come out sooner (like Joanna did at 37 weeks) then it is also possible that this baby will come some times in December. Wow! A December or January baby!

If you're wondering, I'm feeling about the same. I've just been thirsty a lot. The few other thing I've noticed is that I break out (pimples) and get tired. So, I take naps. Huh uh.
